Complex fabricated assemblies often contain numerous sub-components, manufactured by different processes and featuring dimensional variation and complex interfaces. Bringing those elements together accurately, efficiently and reliably is critical to the overall durability of the end application.
At Polar Technology, we manufacture and assemble complex fabricated structures for demanding applications, combining specialist fabrication processes with precision machining, welding, inspection and finishing capabilities. This allows us to take a collection of individual components and deliver them as a complete, finished assembly, ready for integration into the customer’s wider system.
Our approach is particularly suited to projects where geometries are complex, tolerances are demanding or multiple manufacturing processes need to come together within a single assembly. We can work with a combination of formed, machined, welded and additively manufactured components, bringing them together through carefully controlled fabrication and assembly processes.
Our in-house capabilities include coded specialists in precision TIG, MIG and resistance welding, automated, repeatable processes such as 5-axis laser and orbital welding, and a variety of insulating techniques to significantly reduce heat transfer.
The ability to coordinate and complete the entire assembly process at one site, including conducting geometric or non-destructive testing, reduces the need to move work between multiple suppliers and simplifies the overall supply chain.
This can also have a significant impact on lead times. Our established processes and range of in-house capabilities allow us to respond quickly to project requirements, including complex or bespoke assemblies where conventional manufacturing routes may introduce unnecessary delays.
Our experience spans a range of high-performance sectors, from aerospace and defence to automotive and motorsport, where fabricated assemblies can be required to withstand extreme temperatures, vibration, corrosive environments and demanding operating conditions.
From thermal management and fluid conveyance systems to safety-critical structures and lightweight subframes, we understand the importance of getting complex fabrication right first time.
For customers, this means a more straightforward route from individual components to a finished product, with fewer interfaces to manage and greater visibility throughout the manufacturing process.
